How to place eyedrops
into your eye

1) Tilt your head back. This can be accomplished standing, sitting, or lying down.

2) Pull down the lower lid, forming a "pocket" into which the eyedrops can be placed. If you prefer, pull out the lower lid between your thumb and index finger, to form the "pouch."

3) Focus upwards, and with your other hand, squeeze one drop into your lower lide. Close your eye. Do not blink or rub or wipe the eye, and do not touch the bottle tip to your face or hands.

4) Keep the eye closed for two or so minutes. If your doctor feels its helpful, press the tip of your index finger on the inside corner of your eye.

5) Wait another five minutes, and repeat these steps for each kind of eyedrop prescribed. Do not try to put all the drops in at once.
